I’ve won an award! The Honourable Order of Best Blog owners! The last time I actually won something was in the amusement arcade in Bridlington. One of those grabber machines. Might have been a teddy bear, or a dog…not a real one that would be cruel sticking a pooch in the glass box. So thank you Hobbo and Dauphy! Its unexpected and I’m very flattered. I really only thought I’d do a couple of blogs after being very Ill with coronavirus and it just went from there. Now I can’t stop…..

Pressed the wrong button and left you in suspense!! Anyhow a grabbed the furry beast by the throat and it dropped into the flap.. amazing feeling….like I’d won the world cup…

So many British dialects. I’m in East Yorkshire but sound very different from West Yorkshire. And different words for similar things.

Same is true for me. My family is from Sicily. Both pure Italian as well as the Sicilian dialect were spoken in my home. Try to speak Sicilian to someone from Rome or Naples and you might as well be speaking Klingon! Some words are pretty close but others make no sense at all.

The only thing I ever won was a free pizza from Papa John’s. I was honored until I found out they gave away 1,000 of them as a promotion. I ate it anyhow.
